Apprio Appoints Bobbie Peterson as New Executive Vice President of Healthcare Solutions

Health IT Veteran to Lead Expansion of Company's Federal Healthcare Practice and Oversee Customer Care


WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Feb 23, 2015) - Apprio, a leading provider of specialized technology solutions, particularly for the health, defense and homeland security markets, today announced the appointment Bobbie Peterson as the new executive vice president of Apprio Healthcare Solutions. Peterson will oversee Apprio's growing federal healthcare practice that includes work with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Peterson brings more than 25 years of experience in business management and project management to Apprio, recently as vice president, government solutions division with Medsphere Systems Corporation, a leading provider of flexible open source health IT solutions to VA, Indian Health Service and commercial clients. She has played key roles in federal health IT and health science business acquisition through leadership positions at companies focusing on solving healthcare issues. While providing innovative technical healthcare solutions to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the DoD and the VA, Peterson has led efforts in solving healthcare challenges such as modernizing electronic health record systems, achieving Meaningful Use certification, and most recently, providing VA medical scheduling enhancements.

She earned a master's degree in information systems technology management from George Washington University and is recognized as a certified project management professional and a certified professional in healthcare and information management systems.
