Caverion provides building systems worth EUR 13 million for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Poland

Caverion has signed a contract with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to install ventilation and air conditioning systems for several buildings of the new Volkswagen plant in Wrzésnia, Poland. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 13 million and it covers the design and engineering of the systems as well as project execution in the vehicle assembly hall and office spaces, among others. The work on site will start in March 2015, and will be completed during the third quarter of 2016.

The new Września plant will produce the successor to the Volkswagen Crafter. Its vehicle assembly hall, the total surface area of which is around 78,000 m2, will be fitted with high capacity ventilation equipment, which will, among others, ensure that welding fumes generated in the production process are efficiently extracted. To fulfill the client’s requirements for energy efficiency, all facilities will also feature heat recovery systems and ventilation equipment that meet the IE3 Premium efficiency standards.

“We have previously been involved in similar projects at the Volkswagen’s Poznań plant and are delighted that the client is again placing trust in us,” says Frieder Cyzborra, head of Dresden branch in Caverion Germany.

Volkswagen belongs to Caverion’s Industry client segment.
