LOS ANGELES – March 2, 2015 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) employee Katherine Pendergraph received the Most Promising Engineer of the Year award at the 14th annual Asian-American Engineer of the Year (AAEOY) award ceremony, held this weekend in Los Angeles. The AAEOY Award recognizes outstanding Asian-American professionals for their leadership, technical achievements and public service in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Since 2002, hundreds of Asian-American professionals from U.S. technology corporations, research institutions and the U.S. Armed Forces have been honored with AAEOY awards. The past awardees included Nobel Laureates, academicians, corporate executives and astronauts.
Pendergraph is a project engineer in Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector, where she is responsible for verification and validation of development and operational software for a communications system. She has also supported missile and high-altitude, long-endurance (HALE) programs. She is a mentor to minority men and women as part of the Northrop Grumman Systems Engineering Associates program and a member of the Society of Women Engineers. She earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Riverside and a master's in aerospace engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
