The Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 3 will enhance the AN/SLQ-32 electronic warfare attack system through a series of upgrades that add new technologies and capabilities for early detection, signal analysis, threat warning and protection from anti-ship missiles.

Since the introduction of Northrop Grumman's AN/SLQ-32(V)1 in 1974, the company has been a leader in surface Navy electronic warfare and has been involved in every version upgrade. This latest contract award enables Northrop Grumman, serving as prime integrator, to utilize its expertise in electronic warfare and active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology.
