iTraq Announces $500,000 Indiegogo Stretch Goal to Add Rechargeable Feature to Devices

First Global Location Device Ensures Consumers Can Track Anything, Anywhere With Cellular Service


SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Mar 5, 2015) - iTraq, the newest geolocation device that does not use GPS or Bluetooth to track valuables, announces its stretch crowdfunding goal of $500,000 to add a rechargeable feature. iTraq's use of cellular towers makes it stand out amongst other tracking devices that limit tracking to the confines of Bluetooth signal range. The device can operate on a single battery for up to three years and be located virtually anywhere in the world, including on bicycles, cars, boats, packages, luggage and even people.

After raising more than $200,000 to exceed its original Indiegogo campaign goal by more than 600 percent. iTraq gathered feedback from supporters and plans to enhance its device by adding QI Wireless Charging technology, making it easier for consumers to track valuables for longer periods of time.

Backers fully supported the campaign within just 48 hours, proving consumers want advanced tracking technology that allows them to stay more in the loop. iTraq plans to use the additional funding to implement Qi Wireless Charging technology to wirelessly charge a compatible device's battery using induction transfer, allowing users to charge their iTraq devices without extra cables or adapters.
