Courtyard Boston Brookline Hotel Volunteers Help to Greater Boston Food Bank

The Hotel Pledges Volunteers to Help the Boston Food Bank on March 10th, 2015

BROOKLINE, MA--(Marketwired - Mar 9, 2015) -  Courtyard Boston Brookline is participating in a food drive hosted by the Greater Boston Food Bank on March 10th at 70 South Bay Avenue to help collect food donations for the local charity. With twelve volunteers working for two and half hours to sort, inspect and organize donations, the hotel is pleased to give back to the community, as the charity works to collect food for those in need throughout the city.

The Boston Food Drive encourages donations of non-perishable food that visitors can bring in the day of their visit, including canned goods, frozen meats and more. The Brookline hotel's participation includes volunteers who will all be trained in food safety before their shift. Hotel team members will sort and pack donated grocery products that are then distributed to hunger relief agencies.

Volunteers work together as a team on an assembly line, loading boxes onto conveyer belts, inspecting products, sorting and checking labels on boxes. As they inspect and sort the donated goods, each team works together to help ensure the food drive is a seamless success.

The event is a joint Marriott and Hersha Hospitality initiative and is another group effort that showcases Marriott's recent Spirit to Serve program. Hersha Hospitality is a group dedicated to sustainable hospitality initiatives and fosters community engagement programs year-round in an effort to serve local communities.

Marriott is dedicated to helping to better the communities where its properties can be found, across the world. To highlight that effort, Marriott hotels in all regions, including the Courtyard Boston Brookline hotel, located near Kenmore Square and along the Boston Marathon route, near the finish line, are participating in events like these, which help to foster a community that works together.

The Courtyard Boston Brookline is proud to assist one of the most notable charities in Boston, as it helps to feed those in need this season. The food drive aims to collect non-perishable goods for hundreds of people and the hotel is honored to help out the local community by being a part of the event.
