GovDelivery's GovLoop Division Announces Key Milestones and Growth Initiatives

GovLoop Community Passes 150,000; Organization Expands Learning Services for Government Agencies and Free Training Offered at academy.govloop.com

WASHINGTON, March 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GovDelivery, a company dedicated to empowering government to make life better for more people, today announced that its GovLoop division, has achieved key growth milestones and is poised to be an important growth driver for the business going forward.

GovLoop runs the most popular online destination for government employees seeking learning opportunities at www.govloop.com, which now connects more than 150,000 members. GovLoop is significantly expanding its learning services for government agencies and further enhancing its online learning capabilities to better serve this rapidly expanding community. GovLoop has doubled its technology investment and personnel over the past year.

In 2014, GovLoop launched GovLoop Learning Services together with a learning technology platform in order to assist government agencies in converting classroom-based and web-based training to more robust and engaging online learning experiences for both internal and external stakeholders.

"Recognizing the world class online learning opportunities provided at GovLoop.com, agencies asked if we could help them transform the online learning they offer for government employees and to the public," said Ressler, GovLoop President. "It is time for government to modernize learning and training and GovLoop is uniquely positioned to help with this transformation."

GovLoop has historically generated revenue to support free online training from sponsors. This area of the business continues to grow, but today, a number of major Federal agencies are paying GovLoop directly to create and manage learning programs that are just as modern, engaging, and effective as those offered at GovLoop.com. GovLoop frequently offers these services in partnership with its parent company, GovDelivery, which has unique solutions that drive usage and ongoing engagement of online training and learning.

In addition, GovLoop has recently produced and published several high-fidelity courses for its beta online learning site called "GovLoop Academy" at http://academy.govloop.com which now includes more than 10 free courses for government employees including lessons on Open Data and Human-Centered Design funded by the Knight Foundation.

"We are seeing extraordinary demand for online learning that is provided by the government as well as learning we produce on our own and in collaboration with foundations and sponsors," Ressler said. "We know how to fund, produce, and promote amazing learning opportunities, and nothing is more fulfilling for our team."

Ressler, a former civil servant, founded GovLoop in 2008 with a goal of connecting government to improve government. GovLoop was acquired by GovDelivery in 2009 allowing Ressler to build a world class team and grow the community to over 150,000 government leaders at all levels of government in the U.S. and internationally. In 2014, more than 30,000 government leaders took online training through GovLoop.com.
