Fish & Richardson Announces 2015 1L Diversity Fellows

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Mar 11, 2015) - Fish & Richardson today announced the firm's 1L Diversity Fellows for 2015 -- Alison Liou, R. Francisco Lozano, Ariane Moss, Alexander Pechette and Hao Wu -- who were selected from over 390 applicants. Fish's 1L Diversity Fellowship Program was launched in 2005 as a key component of the firm's ongoing initiative to recruit, retain, and advance a diverse group of attorneys. The program annually provides fellowships to diverse first-year law students from across the U.S.

Each Diversity Fellow will receive a unique opportunity to be mentored by members of the firm throughout their law school education, a paid 2015 summer associate position in one of Fish's domestic offices and a $10,000 academic scholarship. Fish will award $5,000 to all 1L Diversity Fellowship recipients upon completion of their 1L summer clerkship and offer an additional $5,000 to those who receive and accept an associate offer with the firm after the completion of a 2L summer clerkship at Fish.

In addition, Fish's 2015 Diversity Fellows will participate in the 1L Scholars Program of the Leadership Council of Legal Diversity (LCLD). LCLD is a national organization made up of more than 220 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners working to build a more open and diverse legal profession. The 1L LCLD Scholars Program is designed to strengthen the legal pipeline by expanding the number of opportunities for diverse first-year law students.

Alison Liou, a student at Columbia Law School (2017), has a Bachelor of Arts degree in organismic and evolutionary biology. Liou will work in the firm's New York office.

R. Francisco Lozano, a student at Santa Clara University School of Law (2017), has a Bachelor of Science degree in physics. Lozano will work in the firm's Silicon Valley office.

Ariane Moss, a student at Harvard Law School (2017), has a Master of Science degree in computer science and a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial and labor relations. Moss will work in the firm's Washington, D.C. office.

Alexander Pechette, a student at the University of Chicago Law School (2017), has a Master of Science in engineering degree and a Bachelor of Science in engineering degree in mechanical engineering. Pechette will work in the firm's Boston office.

Hao Wu, a student at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law (2017), has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Wu will work in the firm's Austin office.

Four Diversity Fellows from Fish's 2014 program will also return to the firm for a second summer.

Thomas Chisena, a student at Temple University, Beasley School of Law (2016), has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Chisena will work in the firm's Delaware office.

Krystina Ho, a student at Columbia Law School (2016), has a Doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology, and a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. Ho will work in the firm's New York office.

Philip Kim, a student at the George Washington University Law School (2016), has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering. Kim will work in the firm's Washington, D.C. office.

Matthew Mahoney, a student at Columbia Law School (2016), has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Mahoney will work in the firm's Washington, D.C. office.
