Silver Airways Starts Flights From Panama City, Florida to Orlando and Tampa

Florida's Largest Intrastate Airline Continues to Add Nonstop Flights for Florida Visitors and Residents

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Silver Airways, Florida's largest intrastate carrier, is continuing to add service for Florida visitors and residents. The airline today started daily nonstop service from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) in Panama City, Florida to both Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Tampa International Airport (TPA). The two new routes were not previously being serviced from Panama City.

In addition to providing important links between Northwest and Central Florida, these new routes provide a variety of convenient connection opportunities to Silver's popular destinations throughout other key points in the Sunshine State, as well as seven island destinations in the Bahamas.

"As Florida's largest intrastate airline, Silver Airways is committed to providing Florida residents and visitors the ease and convenience of flying over driving, and adding Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport to the Silver Airways route network was a natural fit," said Jamie Kogutek, Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning for Silver Airways. "We look forward to welcoming more visitors to the beaches of Bay and Walton Counties while creating new access to everything Florida has to offer for area residents."

"We are excited to welcome Silver Airways and offer new in-state air service to our passengers, as that is exactly what our community has been asking for," said Airport Authority Board Chairman Till Bruett. "ECP continues to grow and we are looking forward to ensuring our passengers have the ability to not only travel to the rest of the world, but also the ability to easily access other destinations in our state."

As the airline of choice for Florida and the Bahamas, Silver offers more routes within Florida and between Florida and the Bahamas than any other airline. In fact, the airline provides more than 50 percent of Florida's intrastate flights.

In addition, Silver Airways' connections offer customers the ease and convenience of seamless booking, ticketing and baggage handling with connections to dozens of destinations outside of Florida that are available via the airline's interline ticketing partnerships with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, United, US Airways, Bahamasair, Hahn Air and All Nippon Airways. Members of United's MileagePlus® and JetBlue's TrueBlue customer loyalty programs can also earn frequent flyer awards for travel throughout Silver's Florida network.
