Diverse Industry Group Highlights Critical Need for Water Infrastructure Investment

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., March 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Reflecting the critical need for broad-based investment in U.S. water infrastructure, Black & Veatch announced it has joined the Value of Water Coalition (VoW). The mission of the Coalition is to draw attention to the nation's aging and underfunded water infrastructure. It aims to educate key stakeholders on the fundamental importance of water to the economic, environmental and community well-being of America.

"U.S. water infrastructure faces challenges on many fronts," said Cindy Wallis-Lage, president of Black & Veatch's water business. "Limited budgets, aging infrastructure and the need for greater resiliency in the face of extreme weather events are impacting communities nationwide. To address these threats to our water systems will require coordination at every level of government. The active engagement of people across the country is also crucial for success. Black & Veatch is proud to join the Value of Water Coalition, a group working to secure our future through greater investment in reliable water systems for American homes and businesses."
