Hemp, Inc.'s Hemp Industry Updates 3/30/2015

LAS VEGAS, March 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP), a leader in the industrial hemp industry reports, today, on more current material events in the industrial hemp and medical marijuana industries. Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. said, "What we want to do is keep our shareholders abreast of how rapidly the industry is evolving in favor of legalizing industrial hemp. We are seeing more and more States considering some form of hemp legislation almost every week. The hemp plant has been cultivated for non-drug uses such as paper, textiles, soap, food, building materials and more recently high-tech bio-composites used in automobiles for years but yet it's illegal to grow in most states... the United States is the world's largest consumer of hemp, but it remains the only major industrialized country that bans farming the product."

Here's a look at some material events just in the past week alone concerning the industrial hemp industry:

1. Signed by the Governor: North Dakota Law Authorizes Hemp Farming, Effectively Nullifies Federal Ban - Last week, Gov. Jack Dalrymple signed a bill into law authorizing the farming, production, and sale of industrial hemp in the state, effectively nullifying the federal prohibition on the same. Introduced by Reps. A 46-1 vote in the Senate this month sent the bill to Dalrymple's desk for a signature. HB1436 not only sets up the framework to effectuate a commercial hemp farming program in the state, it expressly rejects any need for federal approval before growing hemp in the state. It reads, in part: "A license required by this section is not conditioned on or subject to review or approval by the United States drug enforcement agency." Passage into law ensures that North Dakota will join join five other states – Colorado, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vermont – that have already passed similar measures. Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP) seeks to benefit many constituencies from a "Cultural Creative" perspective thereby not exploiting or endangering any group. CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP), Bruce Perlowin, is positioning the company as a leader in the industrial hemp industry, with a social and environmental mission at its core. In fact, he wanted to, consciously, found a business with non-financial goals that weren't an after-thought, but are part of its DNA. Thus, the publicly-traded company believes in "upstreaming" of a portion of profit from the marketing of their finished hemp goods back to its originator, in which most cases will one day be the American farmer, cultivating natural, sustainable products as an interwoven piece of nature. By Hemp, Inc. focusing on comprehensive investment results—that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of people, planet, and profits—our triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support sustainability goals.
