ALM Names Lenny Izzo as President of Legal Media, Molly Miller Steps Into CMO Role

Change to leadership team follows recent acquisitions and aggressive growth strategy

NEW YORK, March 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALM, a leader in specialized industry news and information, has announced that Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Lenny Izzo will step into the role of President of Legal Media, while current Chief Content Officer Molly Miller will also now serve as CMO. In his new role, Izzo will lead the growth strategy for all ALM legal media brands around the world – regional, national and international publications, as well as reference solutions products such as Law Journal Press. Miller will lead corporate marketing for ALM, which includes legal, insurance, financial services, real estate, and consulting verticals. In addition to her role as CMO, Miller will lead the content strategy across ALM verticals to develop synergies between verticals and new monetization opportunities. Miller will utilize the two roles as a seamless platform for insuring that ALM content and marketing successfully engages critical audiences.

Izzo joined the company in 2011 and has since helped raise ALM's profile in the marketplace through an aggressive marketing and public relations strategy. Last year, under his guidance, ALM's legal events business grew significantly, and its audience development team bucked current industry trends by achieving growth. Izzo has also overseen the considerable growth and expansion of LegalTech, the largest and most prestigious legal technology event in the world, which this year hosted more than 13,000 attendees and over 300 exhibitors at its New York event.

"This is an exciting time for ALM as we move forward with our acquisition strategy, and with Lenny's professional experience and impressive track record here at ALM, he couldn't be better positioned to help guide us to continued success," said Bill Carter, CEO of ALM. "Similarly, we are very fortunate to be able to draw on someone of Molly's exceptional caliber to step in and add the CMO role to her responsibilities."

Izzo joined ALM from Thomson Reuters, where he was vice president of marketing for the Small Law Business Unit of the company. Prior to his time at Thomson Reuters, Izzo held leadership roles at LexisNexis and GES Exposition Services. He earned an MBA from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. Prior to his business career, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, with assignments in Germany, Bosnia and Kuwait.

Miller joined ALM in 2012 as publisher of ALM's California publication, The Recorder. In 2013, she led the strategy for development of an innovation focus in The Recorder's coverage and in 2014 she launched the new Recorder in print and digital focused on lawyering in a tech economy. In 2014 she was appointed as publisher of Law.com, ALM's flagship site delivering the top business of law and legal developments from across the ALM network. Before joining the ALM ranks, she spent 15 years at LexisNexis, most recently as vice president of Customer Discovery and Innovation.
