Vidder Receives Computer Technology Review MVP Award for Stopping Cyber Attacks Before They Start

Vidder PrecisionAccess Earns Most Valuable Product Award for Protecting Organizations Against Credential Theft, Server Exploitation and Connection Hijacking

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2015) - Vidder Inc., the pioneer of PrecisionAccess that stops cyber attacks before they start, today announced that Computer Technology Review (CTR) has named Vidder PrecisionAccess as a 2015 Most Valuable Products Award winner for its innovative use of a breakthrough security architecture called the Software Defined Perimeter (SDP) to protect organizations' networks, servers and applications from unauthorized access and attack.

The SDP research group of Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) is a collaboration among more than 100 U.S. government organizations and companies, including Coca-Cola, Verizon Communications Inc., Mazda Motor Corp., and Vidder, to create a new security model. Vidder PrecisionAccess is the first commercially available SDP-based service, focusing on providing IT with total control of devices connecting to enterprise applications across their continually evolving extended enterprise.

According to CTR, what sets Vidder PrecisionAccess apart is its inherently secure paradigm: "It starts with zero visibility and zero connectivity. After the user and his or her device have been [mutually authenticated through PrecisionAccess], the software dynamically builds connectivity to that user's authorized applications, and none other."

By removing network connectivity from unauthorized applications, PrecisionAccess defeats all network-based attacks by unauthorized users. It defeats credential theft using transparent MultiFactor Authentication (tMFA); defeats server exploitation via server isolation; and defeats connection hijacking via mutual TLS (mTLS). And it does all this with no false positives and no false negatives. To date, no one has broken this security architecture.

"Vidder partnered with CSA last year and hosted two global hackathons," said Brent Bilger, VP of Solutions Architecture at Vidder. "Despite more than 5 billion packets being fired at this new security architecture, no one was able to circumvent even the first of the five security controls layers. CTR's highest award in the Security Awards Category continues to validate PrecisionAccess, which has been deployed by blue-chip customers to control access to their critical enterprise apps by any user, from anywhere within their extended enterprise."
