Michael Baker International's Bob Schlesinger appointed Chair of ACEC committee


PITTSBURGH, April 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) has appointed Michael Baker International's Bob Schlesinger, P.E., LEED® AP BD+C to Chair of the Federal Agencies & Procurement Advocacy Committee. Schlesinger, a senior vice president and Federal, U.S. Navy market lead will serve a one-year term that begins during the ACEC Annual Convention, April 19-22, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

As Chair, Schlesinger provides leadership to fulfill the Committee's goals of promoting ACEC's business, legislative, funding and communications objectives with federal agencies.

Schlesinger is a retired Navy captain with 29 years of service, and was the commanding officer of NAVFAC Northwest and the Navy Region Northwest Director of Facilities and Environment prior to joining Michael Baker International in 2009.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in systems engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master of Science in national resource strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and a Master of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a registered Professional Engineer in civil engineering in the states of Washington and Rhode Island.
