Bazaarvoice Names Sara Spivey as Chief Marketing Officer


AUSTIN, Texas, April 20, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bazaarvoice, Inc. (Nasdaq:BV), the network connecting brands and retailers to the authentic voices of consumers wherever they shop, today announced that Sara Spivey has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. Reporting to Gene Austin, chief executive officer, president, and director at Bazaarvoice, Spivey is responsible for overall leadership of Bazaarvoice's global marketing programs, including demand generation, solutions marketing, brand strategy, and communications. Her position is effective immediately and she will be based in the company's Austin, Texas office.

Spivey brings to Bazaarvoice more than 30 years of marketing, strategy, and leadership experience with industry-leading organizations. Most recently, Spivey served as CEO of InReach, a provider of online continuing education management solutions, a role preceded by her tenure as chief marketing officer for Convio, a provider of constituent relationship management software and services to nonprofit organizations. Prior to that she was vice president, Marketing and Business Development at rPath, Inc. and earlier served as vice president, Worldwide Sales, Strategic Account Alliance Development for Advanced Micro Devices. Spivey began her career with Hewlett-Packard before joining Quantum Corporation, where she held a number of roles including vice president, Marketing for the Network Attached Storage Division.

Active in the Austin community, Spivey serves as vice chairman of the board of directors for Girlstart and is an adjunct professor in The Bill Munday School of Business at St. Edwards University. She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, and also earned an MBA from The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College.
