GETTYSBURG, Pa., April 20, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Ohio Association of Child Caring Agencies (OACCA) has entered into a collaboration agreement with the Leadership Council for Children Services (Leadership Council) that will allow the OACCA members to join the Council.

Launched in 2013, the highly-acclaimed Leadership Council executive learning community is specifically designed to help identify, develop, and implement the market strategies and management best practices that improve the financial sustainability of health and human service organizations serving children. The Leadership Council is a partnership between the Child Welfare League of American and OPEN MINDS.

"Our goal is to provide these organizations with the information and tools they need to effectively and efficiently serve their customers – children who desperately need their services," explains Monica Oss, OPEN MINDS Chief Executive Officer. "In a time of changing policy and financing, the Leadership Council for Children's Services provides its member executives with both access to latest market and management information – but also a unique networking opportunity."

The membership of the Leadership Council is selected executives of U.S. child-serving organizations. In addition to the opportunity to meet and share best practices six times each year, the Leadership Council Membership includes:

  • Access to an exclusive online learning community and knowledge-center containing curriculum designed specifically for executives of child-serving organizations
  • Weekly industry market intelligence reports and strategy advice from OPEN MINDS Senior Advisors
  • Quarterly web briefings and discussion groups on market trends impacting sustainability
  • Complimentary registrations to the four annual OPEN MINDS executive development conferences and training events
  • Complimentary registrations to the OPEN MINDS "Leadership Retreat" every year in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Current members of The Leadership Council include executives from:

  • Beechbrook and St. Josephs Orphanage in Ohio
  • Hillsides in California
  • Jefferson Hills, Shiloh and Devereux in Colorado
  • Kingsley House in New Orleans
  • Lena Pope Home in Texas
  • The Villages of Indiana

"The Leadership Council for Children's Services is a unique project because it was specifically created to help executives focus on the changes occurring due to healthcare reform, and to help them translate these critical changes into action to gain competitive advantage and market position. This program offers executives the unique opportunity to receive industry-specific weekly market updates and quarterly web briefings on relevant health care information, research, and trends", says Howard Shiffman, Senior Associate, OPEN MINDS, and coordinator of The Leadership Council project.
