Brinks Gilson & Lione President Sobieraj Elected President of Licensing Executives Society International


CHICAGO, April 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- James R. Sobieraj, president of intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione, was recently elected president of the board of directors for the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), a non-profit professional society for individuals engaged in the transfer and licensing of technology and intellectual property rights. Sobieraj was elected by the LES International board of delegates at the 44th LES International Conference in Brussels, Belgium.

Sobieraj has been actively involved with LESI and its member society for the USA and Canada since 1990. He most recently served as president-elect of LESI, and was previously treasurer, counsel to its board of directors and chair of its 2008 international conference, and co-chair of its dispute resolution committee. He was president of the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada), Inc. from 2002 to 2003, and also has served as the organization's secretary, international delegate, and member of its board of trustees.

Sobieraj has spent his entire career—more than 30 years—as an intellectual property attorney at Brinks, one of the largest IP law firms in the United States. Trained as an electrical engineer, he represents clients with innovative technologies in the electronics, telecommunications, computer, medical device, and automotive industries, helping them to enforce, license, and procure IP rights.
