MSDSonline Educates Safety Professionals on OSHA's Lab Standard and Risk Communication at Chemical Facilities

CHICAGO, April 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MSDSonline, the leading producer of cloud-based environmental, health and safety (EHS) solutions, announced today that it is offering two exclusive webinars in May to further educate safety professionals on proper lab chemical handling and provide first responders with important chemical hazard information. Both the OSHA Lab Standard and EO 13650 seminars are being offered May 12, and will run approximately 60 minutes with time allowed for Q&A with experts in both subjects. Registration is now open at http://www.msdsonline.com/resources/webinars.

"Whether you are a seasoned safety professional or new to chemical management, these webinars provide important information needed to keep your employees safe," said Glenn Trout, president and CEO of MSDSonline. "Keeping our customers and the marketplace informed of important regulatory information and safety procedures is a responsibility MSDSonline takes seriously. That's why our webinars are provided at no cost to safety professionals."

While MSDSonline has offered previous webinars on OSHA's Lab Standard, this is the first time the company will offer safety professionals an in-depth look at Executive Order 13650, which aims to improve facility safety and security. The order instructs EPA, OSHA, the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies to review their respective chemical standards and to work together to implement new strategies for safeguarding those workers, first responders, and communities linked to chemical facilities.

"EO 13650 is intended to drive chemical facilities to be more transparent about their chemical hazards, and to ensure requisite hazard information is shared with U.S. agencies and local first responders in a timely fashion," said Trout. "This webinar will not only provide an overview of EO 13650, but also suggest steps companies can take to ensure compliance while looking at new technologies that can facilitate the sharing of chemical hazard information with employees and first responders."

In addition to the new, live webinars, MSDSonline also offers recorded webinars on a range of subjects that can be accessed on-demand, including:

  • Canada's Ongoing WHMIS Revisions
  • Leveraging EHS Software Systems to Drive Culture Change
  • GHS Adoption
  • OSHA Recordkeeping 101

Safety professionals interested in registering for either webinar can do so by visiting www.MSDSonline.com/resources/webinars. Space is limited. Visitors can also review information on the industry's most popular cloud-based chemical management solution and nearly 100 expert-reviewed, interactive training courses covering a range of EHS topics.
