Majority of Americans Have Never Met with a Certified Financial Planner According to Four Seasons Financial Education

Corporate financial wellness firm finds 58% of Americans have never sat down with a CFP in new survey

ST. LOUIS, Mo., April 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Four Seasons Financial Education (FSFE), a provider of workplace financial wellness programs, recently release the findings of their 2015 Financial Wellness Survey. This survey, which included 572 full-time employees from around the United States, found that approximately 58% of Americans have never met with a board-Certified Financial Planner, or CFP.

"It's no wonder so many Americans are behind on goals such as retirement savings if they haven't consulted a financial planning professional," said Danton Troyer, one of the firm's senior CFPs. "This should also be a wake-up call for employers helping employees reach retirement. Imagine if 58% of Americans had never met with a doctor before," said Troyer.

The survey also showed that 83% of employees would meet with a CFP if their employer made one available to them. Many employers are now including financial wellness programs as part of an overall benefits package. The survey found that 74% of employee feel financial wellness should be part of an overall wellness program. The 2015 Financial Wellness Survey is available for free at http://www.FSFE.com.
