DSI Renal Acquires Several Clinics in the Macon Area

With the new clinics, DSI expands to 17 clinics in the state of Georgia

MACON, Ga., April 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSI Renal, a leading provider of dialysis services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, announced the successful acquisition of five dialysis clinics in the greater Macon, Georgia area. The Georgia clinics, located in Macon (two clinics), Milledgeville, Monticello, and Gray, together with DSI's five existing clinics in the market, position the company as the leading dialysis operator in the region. With the acquisition and DSI's other new clinics in the area, DSI will operate a total of 17 clinics in the state of Georgia.

"We already have a well established history of delivering high quality dialysis care to patients in Macon and surrounding communities over the last 30 years" says Dr. Mufid Othman from Kidney Center of Central Georgia, which supplies the medical directors for all of DSI's Macon area clinics. "I am pleased to partner with DSI to create a broader network of clinics that provide the life-sustaining treatments our patients need."

Once all clinics are fully integrated, DSI has plans to invest in significant clinic upgrades that will improve the patient experience and enhance efficiency.  Improvements will include new dialysis chairs and equipment, the implementation of DSI's innovative proprietary electronic medical record system, and building repairs and maintenance.

Craig Goguen, President and CEO of Nashville, Tennessee based DSI Renal said, "This is exactly the kind of partnership that DSI is working to build; a high quality physician practice partner with a regional network of state of the art facilities.  We love working with great physicians and caregivers to make sure patients and communities have access to the best possible care close to home."

As patient care remains the top priority, patients will not experience any treatment disruptions while DSI transitions as the new owner and operator of the clinics.  Patients will notice little to no change at their normal clinics, as previous staff will remain and all physicians will be able to continue seeing their patients as before.  DSI's management team will work diligently to ensure a seamless integration process and remains committed to working closely with staff and physicians to preserve existing relationships.

Along with the newly acquired clinics, DSI is opening a brand new clinic east of Atlanta, in the Social Circle community, which will bring the total number of Georgia clinic locations to 17.  The expansion in Georgia is consistent with DSI's market cluster growth strategy following recent denovo clinic openings in Connecticut, Maryland, South Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, and Idaho.
