AS Tallinna Vesi has updated the investment plan for 2015

On 29th of April 2015, AS Tallinna Vesi signed a contract with the Finnish construction company Lemminkäinen for the construction works to be performed on Tihase tunnel collector.

The investment is included in the 2015 investment plan and the total cost of the investment is likely to be in the range of 6-7 million euros, depending on the actual volume and the cost of the works to be carried out.

Tihase tunnel collector forms a part of the Tallinn sewerage system that is used to conduct wastewater and storm water from the areas of Mustamäe and Kristiine to the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Paljassaare.

In the second half of October 2014, the Company detected a progressing subsiding above the Tihase tunnel collector. The subsiding was stopped and the collector was stabilised. The repair works are technically complicated and must be performed in a manner that would not damage the adjacent facilities, nor cause any soil pollution. Therefore, the Company has engaged the specialists and engineers with a required competencies and experience, from both Estonia and from AS Tallinna Vesi’s major shareholder United Utilities. The Company believes that Lemminkäinen has the competencies that are needed to perform these repair works.

The construction works are expected to be complete by the end of 2015.
