YIT to construct student flats in Tampere
YIT has signed an agreement with the Tampere Student Housing Foundation (TOAS) on the construction of approximately 80 rental flats in the Kaleva district in Tampere, Finland. With a value of approximately EUR 10 million, the project will be constructed on a plot managed by YIT, in accordance with YIT’s design. The construction will begin immediately and is scheduled for completion in August 2016.
The units to be constructed are small one-room or two-room flats, in addition to which the building will comprise business premises amounting to approximately 260 square metres. In addition to the project to be started now, YIT is also building a student hotel for TOAS in the Tampella district, as well as an apartment block in Hervanta.
“TOAS and YIT have a long history of collaboration in Tampere. As a result of our systematic collaboration, YIT has built more than 1,000 flats for TOAS in Tampere, on YIT’s plots with an excellent location,” comments Ilkka Kääriäinen, Vice President at YIT.
