AB “Utenos Trikotažas” Group sales for the I quarter of 2015 reached EUR 4.3 million, 0.5 % less than during the same period in 2014. AB Utenos Trikotažas sales for the I quarter of 2015 reached EUR 3.6 million, 6.1 % more than during the same period in 2014.
AB “Utenos Trikotažas” Group operating losses for the first quarter of 2015 was EUR 50 thousand, as in the same period in 2014 the Group earned EUR 182 thousand operating profit. AB "Utenos trikotažas" incurred EUR 146 thousand of operating losses for the first quarter of 2015, as in the same period in 2014 the Company earned EUR 63 thousand operating profit.
“The results of the group in the first quarter were influenced by both favourable and unfavourable factors. The rising dollar rate and ever-increasing appeal of Lithuanian manufacturers partially allowed us to counterweight the adverse factors that influenced our results. The drop in Russian economics and the decreasing volume of sales of European companies (the customers of AB “Šatrija”) operating in Russia – a direct result of rouble devaluation – caused slender results of the first quarter for the UT Group in comparison to the same period in 2014”, says Gintautas Bareika, Director General of AB “Utenos trikotažas”.
AB “Utenos trikotažas” continues its strategy of diverting its focus to create innovative fabrics and search for new markets: the company participates in specialized exhibition in Western Europe, and promotes its services, fabrics and technologies to potential partners and clients. Apart from traditional and well-known products of the company, fabrics made from certified raw materials such as organic cotton and wool were offered by “Utenos trikotažas” and received quite a lot of attention from potential clients; the fabrics made from natural linen fibre were also popular. The company has already been addressed by clients from previously unexplored markets – Japan, Australia, Columbia and South Africa.
“We are constantly looking for technologically new solutions and are planning to acquire equipment intended for digital printing on fabrics in the nearest future”, Mr Bareika told.
The company plans that this focused activity will help to achieve better results in 2015.
