More Than 1,000 Potential Homebuyers Attend Grand Opening at Timber, a New 164-Home Community in Newark, Calif.

20 Homes Sold During Opening Week of Sales at City's First New Residential Development in More Than a Decade


NEWARK, CA--(Marketwired - May 1, 2015) - More than 1,000 people attended the recent grand opening for Shade and Canopy at Timber -- Trumark Homes' new community offering 164 single-family detached homes and townhomes in Newark, Calif. On grand opening weekend, 20 homes were immediately sold; to date more than 40 homes are currently in escrow.

Guests at the grand opening event enjoyed barbecue, curry and cupcakes from food trucks and toured six new home models (three townhomes at Canopy and three single-family homes at Shade). The first new owners are expected to move in this summer.

Shade and Canopy at Timber, an 11.98-acre community on the site of a former RV storage parking lot on Cedar Boulevard, is the first new residential development in Newark in more than a decade. This new neighborhood is within a short distance of the Dumbarton Bridge and Interstate 880. Residents are near local shopping and amenities as well as 13 parks and sports facilities.

Designed by KTGY Group, the community will include 84 three-story detached single-family homes and 80 three-story townhomes with six different floor plans ranging in size from three-bed, three-bath with 1,540 square feet to four-bed, three-and-a-half bath with 2,405 square feet.
