PALMco Joins Autism Services and Resources Connecticut's Annual Walk for Autism as a Silver Sponsor

Raised Funds to Support ASRC's Statewide Work and Promote Autism Awareness

BROOKLYN, NY and WALLINGFORD, CT--(Marketwired - May 1, 2015) -  PALMco, a family owned and operated energy supply company, announced today its sponsorship of Autism Services and Resources Connecticut's (ASRC) Walk for Autism on May 3, 2015. As a silver sponsor, PALMco is helping ASRC, the state leader in advocacy, training, and family supports, create a day to remember at its 17th annual Walk for Autism.

Drawing over 3,000 families, the Walk for Autism raises funds to support the statewide work for ASRC and promotes autism awareness on a broader scale. Located in Wallingford, CT, this year's walk features raffles, awards, food trucks, and new events like Touch-A-Truck.

"As a family owned and operated company, we are proud to support ASRC's efforts to help families on the daily journey of autism," said Robert Palmese, President of PALMco. "The 17th annual Walk for Autism is a great opportunity for the broader Connecticut community to learn about ASRC's creative activities, support groups, and recreational opportunities. ASRC's mission to support these families echoes our commitment to helping the local communities in which we operate."

"We are so grateful to have wonderful, community-minded corporate sponsors like PALMco, partner with us in providing the financial resources required for us to make much needed programs and services available to Connecticut's families," stated Kim Newgass, ASRC Director of Outreach & Special Projects.

The Walk for Autism on May 3rd is the year's largest fundraiser for ASRC, providing resources for all statewide advocacy efforts, programs, and services. Funds raised will also support the new Housing and Employment initiatives, which will address these issues as individuals on the spectrum grow into adulthood.

This new partnership is part of "PALMco Cares," a larger effort to give back to the communities in which PALMco operates. Launched in December 2013, PALMco Cares' inaugural campaign donates $1 per month for each participating gas and/or electric account to the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). In January 2014, PALMco announced that it had surpassed the initial goal of $10,000 but is continuing to offer the opportunity for customers to opt into donating to ACCO. Now in its third year, PALMco Cares has contributed over $30,000 to ACCO.
