Icelandic ON Power chooses Fortum Charge & Drive

FORTUM CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 5 May 2015

ON Power, an Icelandic power company, has chosen Fortum’s Charge & Drive business system for operating their electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Iceland. By choosing Charge & Drive, the leading business system for smart charging operations, ON Power will provide a user friendly solution for electric vehicles (EVs). ON Power estimates that at least ten charging stations will be  in operation by the end of 2015.

-We were interested in finding a partner who had a clear idea about how a network of charging stations could be operated to support ON Power’s strategy, says Ásdís Gíslason, Marketing Manager, ON Power. -Fortum Charge & Drive has a high professional standard, and it is highly recognised in the business, so the choice was easy.

The agreement enables ON Power to operate  their smart chargers which will be placed in southwest Iceland. Fortum will supply the cloud-based Charge & Drive system, which provides solutions for managing the customer experience, infrastructure and charging business.

-The fact that ON Power chose to partner with Fortum in Iceland is a testament to our Charge & Drive platform. We are dedicated to supporting ON Power to create good customer experiences in Iceland. With this agreement, Charge & Drive is taking the first step outside our home markets of Norway, Sweden and Finland. We are very excited and look forward to good cooperation, says Rami Syväri, Program Manager International Expansion, Fortum Charge & Drive

Backed by more than ten years'  experience in developing charging solutions for electric vehicles, today Fortum’s Charge & Drive is  one of the market’s leading business systems for charging station operations. The platform is offered as a service for any operator wanting to expand step-by-step with its “pay as you grow” business model.

-Charge & Drive helps anyone who wants to offer charging services by getting their stations connected to a platform that has access to all the functionalities we offer. You start with the basic functionalities and can later add more advanced services as needed, says Fortum's Rami Syväri.
