TUCSON, Ariz., May 6, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- New Orleans Public Belt Railroad announced today the launch of an innovative health and wellness program that includes health screening, on-site vaccinations, medication therapy management, counseling, and educational seminars. The program will be delivered by Sinfonía Family Services (SFS) of Louisiana and SinfoníaRx. The goals of the program are to improve workplace morale, quality of life, optimize the treatment of chronic illness, and ensure medication safety. Both SFS of Louisiana and SinfoníaRx are divisions of Tucson, Arizona, based Sinfonía HealthCare Corp. Sinfonía HealthCare Corp. is a national health care provider launched in 2013 by Fletcher McCusker, former CEO and founder of Providence Service Corporation (PRSC-NASDAQ). Sinfonía opened the Louisiana agency in October under the direction of Jo-Ann Prisco, Executive Vice President of the East and led by SFS Louisiana CEO Kathleen Saintcross and provides community based services in Jefferson Parish and New Orleans.

Educational seminars and counseling services will be delivered by SFS of Louisiana while medication therapy management services will be delivered by SinfoníaRx.

SFS of Louisiana is a new and innovative provider of integrated wellness services for individuals and families in Louisiana. "We are looking forward to partnering with the NOPBRR to bring high quality services to their employees and families," said Kathleen Saintcross, CEO of SFS of Louisiana. "These partnerships have positive impacts on our community as a whole."

SinfoníaRx is the largest provider of medication therapy management services in the United States. "We are excited to work with the NOPBRR on this new innovative program," said Kevin Boesen, CEO of SinfoníaRx. "Managing complex chronic illness can be a real challenge. This program will support both employees with chronic illness and employees serving as care-givers for family members with chronic illness and complex medication regimens." Medication therapy management services are a requirement for Medicare health plans and there is a growing trend to expand these services to more patients.

About Sinfonía HealthCare: Sinfonía HealthCare was launched in January 2013 by pioneering healthcare executives Fletcher McCusker and Michael Deitch, the CEO, CFO team and founders of Providence Service Corporation, which grew from $2 million in 1997 revenue in Tucson to over a billion dollars of annual revenue in 350 locations in 2012. Sinfonía presented the team the opportunity to build a new approach to community based medical care and the company quickly established a full continuum of health services including: hospice, home health, companion care, primary care, wellness and medication therapy management . The company currently provides services to over 7,500,000 covered patient lives. After July of 2014 (the termination of the non-compete period with Providence) Sinfonía launched a behavioral health division designed to integrate mental health, pharmacy and primary care. As a result the behavioral health division has business opportunities in Virginia, Louisiana, Florida and Maine.
