New Research on How People Choose Between Brands and Products: Resonate Hosts Webmeeting Featuring Leading Independent Analyst

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - May 7, 2015) - Resonate -- the data and technology company -- and Forrester Research, Inc. announced that they will be hosting a live webmeeting at 1pm EDT, Thursday, May 21 in which guest speaker, Forrester Research VP and Principal Analyst Shar VanBoskirk, will present findings from her April 2015 report entitled "How People Choose".

VanBoskirk's report states that "the rapid adoption of digital technology gives marketers a false sense of precision about how they predict consumer behavior." In fact, the report concludes that humans are not rational creatures, and that "we make 95% of our purchase decisions with no active consideration at all."

The webmeeting will cover some important topics for marketers and consumer insights professionals, including:

  • How technology has tipped the balance between logic and emotion in decision-making.
  • The fundamentals of marketing and competitive positioning that should change in order to accommodate how people choose today.
  • How to tune in to -- and influence -- customers' decision-making processes.

"We are delighted to feature Forrester and Shar to explore this important topic that is extremely valuable for marketing leaders who want to be more relevant to their customers," says Pat LaPointe, EVP of Resonate. "We conduct hundreds of thousands of in-depth consumer surveys each year and consistently find that consumer decisions regarding brands and purchases are far better explained by their deeply ingrained values and motivations, not just logical observable actions."
