The First of Long Island Corporation to Ring The Nasdaq Stock Market Closing Bell

GLEN HEAD, N.Y., May 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Michael N. Vittorio, President and Chief Executive Officer of The First of Long Island Corporation, will preside over the ringing of the NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 4:00 PM ET.  The event will take place at the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square, New York City.

The First of Long Island Corporation (Nasdaq:FLIC) is the parent company of The First National Bank of Long Island (the “Bank”).  Mr. Vittorio will be joined for the Closing Bell ceremony by the Bank’s Board of Directors and senior management team.

Mr. Vittorio is ringing the Closing Bell to celebrate the Bank’s 88th anniversary and its parent company’s success as a public company.  The Bank opened its doors in October 1927 with initial capital of $50,000.  Assets now total $2.8 billion with a growing network of 41 branches in key affluent markets on Long Island and in Manhattan.  Deposits and loans grew 14.1% and 26.5%, respectively, during the twelve months ended March 31, 2015.

“We are pleased that the bank continues to grow deposits and loans in a measured and disciplined way.  All of our growth has been organic. Our targeted market focus continues to be middle market companies, small businesses, professionals such as doctors, lawyers, dentists and CPAs, municipalities and service conscious consumers.  Our double digit asset, loan and deposit growth has been directly related to these business segments and have been the key to our enhanced franchise value,” said Mr. Vittorio.
