Auris Medical Holding AG Announces Notice of Allowance from USPTO Related to Treating Middle Ear Diseases with Poloxamer-Based Fluoroquinolone Compositions


Zug, Switzerland, May 18, 2015 - Auris Medical Holding AG (NASDAQ: EARS), a clinical-stage company dedicated to developing therapeutics that address important unmet medical needs in otolaryngology, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") has issued a Notice of Allowance for a patent (14/317,319) relating to methods of treating inner or middle ear diseases with intratympanic injections of poloxamer-based compositions. The claims are directed to the use of fluoroquinolone antibiotics in poloxamer 407 compositions under certain specifications. The patent is based on a continuation filing related to US patent application 11/992,632, with priority date of September 28, 2005, which discloses the use of various biocompatible polymers for the controlled release of various active substances for the treatment of diseases of the inner or middle ear.
