Attention Shoppers: Momentum 2015 Sessions Reveal “Next Generation” Store Associate Technology

ATLANTA and PHOENIX, May 18, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Factors such as the rise of digital commerce, mobile touchpoints, omni-channel fulfillment requirements and soaring consumer expectations are forcing retailers to expand the mission and role of stores and their associates. Today’s associate is part sales person, part customer service agent and part fulfillment specialist – each requiring specific applications that enable them to deliver the best service experience possible.

Today at Momentum 2015 in Phoenix, Ariz. Manhattan Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq:MANH) introduced its “Next Generation” store solutions that deliver the capabilities to meet the needs of the redefined store associate. Additionally, the conference premiered its most in-depth Retail Store Solutions track ever, examining all aspects of the future store environment. This track includes customer case studies, live solution demos and discussions about current and future trends across the areas of point-of-sale (POS), clienteling, store fulfillment, inventory and more.

Forrester Research Principal Analyst Adam Silverman will close out the first day of the track with a session titled “The Future of the Retail Store Is Digital.” Join him on Monday, May 18 at 4:45 p.m. to learn how retailers can adapt and evolve to prepare for customers’ rising expectations of brick-and-mortar stores.

Manhattan Associates also announced today general availability of its 2015 Store Inventory and Fulfillment product. The solution, which promotes more profitable and productive inventory management and in-store fulfillment, includes innovative features like user-defined parameters (such as social media style hashtags) to categorize orders and efficiently organize dynamic pick queues. This new approach to batch fulfillment facilitates an easy and effective task assignment process, while the pick path optimization capabilities help guide the picking process by generating a path that is built for the unique requirements of in-store order picking.

“The distribution center is no longer the sole hub of a retailer’s supply chain,” said Kevin Swanwick, senior director of retail solutions, Manhattan Associates. “Retailers are asking more of their stores than ever before – they are product showcases, consumer experience and service centers and distribution centers. Manhattan Associates understands this new reality and is proud to work with leading brands to address these next-generation store challenges. We look forward to delving into these issues with customers, analysts and executives this week at Momentum.”
