concept for STARAMBA selfies
Berlin, 28 May 2015 - STARAMBA GmbH, Berlin, an investment of Social
Commerce Group SE, which is listed in the General Standard (ISIN:
DE000A1K03W5), is breaking new ground in the sale of 3D selfies. After a
successful pilot phase in Berlin of several months, the franchise sales
system developed by Social Commerce Group SE is now being rolled out across
the board.
Despite enormous demand around the world, 3D selfies used to have a major
disadvantage compared to two-dimensional selfies: they were too expensive.
The miniatures of people or animals produced by 3D scanners and printers
were not suitably scalable due to the high amount of professional labour
required to process the 3D images. In contrast, 2D selfies are posted on
social networks en masse and can be created by anybody at virtually no
cost.
Instead of printing selfies, the business model of the Berlin-based
STARAMBA GmbH focuses on generating 3D data for celebrities. This offers
the advantage that the labour required to process the images is only needed
once and the files can then be printed and sold to the celebrities' fans
any number of times without additional image processing costs. This
business model has been successfully tested with prominent artists, artist
groups and labels like Linkin Park, Arthur Abraham, Universal Music and
Marvel Heroes. Social Commerce Group SE, a new company founded by around 20
prominent athletes including Fredi Bobic, Marko Rehmer and Oliver Neuville,
supported the investments by placing its contact network at their disposal.
However, the high production costs for printing 3D selfies - of
non-celebrities, that is - remained.
The INSTAGRAPH photogrammetry scanner developed by STARAMBA solves this
problem. It reduces the image processing after the scan to a minimum, is
reliable and affordable.
There is high demand not only in the German-speaking region but also in
Asia and America, as the STARAMBA INSTAGRAPH is easy to operate and very
robust in mobile applications, and it delivers scans of singularly good
quality. First sales have now been made in the USA, India and the United
Arab Emirates.
