At the Council meeting held on May 29, 2015, the issue of changes in the Board was reviewed as the term of office of four Board members, including the Chairman of the Board, expires on August 16, 2015.
Three of four current Board members will no longer work for the company. Vice-Chairman of the Board Alexander Miheyev already announced earlier that he would not contend for the position of Board member after the expiration of his term. Chairman of the Board Adrians Dāvis and Member of the Board Anda Ulpe have decided to discontinue their work for the company although they were invited to run for re-election.
The term of office of Vice-Chairman of the Board Mario Nullmeier ends on December 31, 2016, hence he remains in the position.
Current Board member Gints Freibergs was invited to continue work, and the Council elected him in the Board effective August 16, 2015. Furthermore, the Council elected a new Board member Alexander Frolov whose duties will also begin in August.
The issue of the vacant positions of Board members and the distribution of titles in the Board will be reviewed at the next Council meeting.
Adrians Dāvis has been working in the Latvian gas industry since 1965 and has been heading the company for 27 years. Anda Ulpe has been working in the Latvian gas industry since 1984 and has been Board member since 1997. Alexander Miheyev has been working in the gas industry since 1968 and has also been Board member since 1997.
Chairman of the Board Adrians Dāvis and other resignees express their gratitude to the Council for the trust over many years and to the company’s shareholders who have always been supportive of the company’s development and modernisation. The Board members give thanks to employees who have made the JSC „Latvijas Gāze” a modern and technologically advanced company, as well as to the customers and partners.
The Board officials have decided to resign in order to make room for young people who will face challenges in the further infrastructure modernisation and the development of the natural gas market.
