Sales in May

Baltika’s consolidated sales revenue for May totalled 4,432 thousand euros, decreasing by 3% compared to the same period last year continued operations revenue.

Baltika’s retail sales for May increased in the Baltic states by 3%, thereof increased in Estonia by 9% and in Lithuania by 1%. Retail sales in Latvia decreased by 2%. In Russia, retail sales decreased by 47% compared to same period previous year. In local currency sales decreased in Russia by 37%. In the same period sales area in Russia decreased by 24%. Baltika’s consolidated retail sales revenue for May was 4,069 thousand euros, decreasing 5% compared to the same period last year.

In May one new Monton retail store was opened in Estonia. At the end of May Baltika Group had 131 stores, among which franchise stores – 5 in Russia, 5 in Spain, 2 franchise stores in Belarus and 15 operating franchise stores in Ukraine. Average month sales area of shops operated by Baltika remained at the last year same period level.

Wholesale increased by 2% compared to May in previous year, e-com sales increased by over four times, i.e 316%.

Sales in May

Sales revenue for five months totalled 21,108 thousand euros, remaining at the last year same period level. Retail sales revenue was 18,196 thousand euros (-5% yoy), thereof the Baltic states sales increased by 2%. At the same period the Group’s average retail sales area decreased by 3%. Wholesale was 2,438 thousand euros (+50% yoy) and e-com revenues 434 thousand euros (+256% yoy).

In connection with Baltika’s reorganisation of Ukrainian retail business and selling the company there (agreement was signed on 29 April 2014), the sales revenue of the Ukrainian entity is presented as discontinued operation. Sales announcement presents only the results of continuing operations unless indicated otherwise.
