LRAD(R) Corporation Announces Follow-On $634,000 LRAD 100X Public Safety Order from Asia

SAN DIEGO, June 2, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LRAD Corporation (Nasdaq:LRAD), the world's leading provider of advanced mass notification and Long Range Acoustic Device® systems, today announced a $634,000 LRAD 100X systems and accessories order for a police force in Asia upgrading its communication products to include LRAD's long range, highly intelligible voice capability. The order is scheduled for delivery this fiscal year.

"The limited voice quality, loudness and range of bullhorns, megaphones, inferior hailing devices, and vehicle P.A. systems make them ineffective for communicating to crowds," noted Tom Brown, President and CEO of LRAD Corporation. "Our optimized driver and waveguide technology cuts through 88 decibels of background noise over distances up to 250 meters to ensure law enforcement's notifications, warnings, commands, and instructions are heard and clearly understood."

The LRAD 100X is a self-contained, handheld device that significantly outperforms other products typically used by law enforcement for crowd communication. LRAD 100X directional broadcasts overcome engine, wind, siren, and crowd noise to ensure every message is clearly delivered. In addition to being 20 - 30 decibels louder than bullhorns and megaphones, the LRAD 100X is also four to six times louder and significantly more intelligible than systems of comparable size and weight.

Brown added, "In addition to LRAD's unique ability to clearly communicate over distance, the LRAD warning tone safely alerts attention to the voice messages that follow, establishes large standoff zones, and is the safer crowd control alternative to non-lethal and kinetic measures."
