Pacific Mercantile Bank's Leila Rohani Honored With Lauds & Laurels Award From UC Irvine Alumni Association

COSTA MESA, Calif., June 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pacific Mercantile Bank ("the Bank"), the wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Mercantile Bancorp (Nasdaq:PMBC), congratulates Leila Rohani, a 2015 recipient of the Lauds & Laurels Distinguished Alumni Award from the UC Irvine Alumni Association. Ms. Rohani is a Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Pacific Mercantile Bank's Newport Beach Region. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from UC Irvine.

Since 1971, the UCI Alumni Association and its board of directors have presented Lauds & Laurels, the association's highest honor, at a formal ceremony each spring. Lauds & Laurels is the university's oldest awards ceremony, a tradition that has recognized many members of the UCI community for their service to the university, the community or their profession.

Ms. Rohani was recognized with the Distinguished Alumni Award for her successful banking career, her contributions to UCI and service to the community. She has remained closely involved with UC Irvine as a member of the Leadership Council and the Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee for The Henry Samueli School of Engineering.

"Leila exemplifies the best qualities of business banking in Orange County," said Tom Vertin, President of Commercial Banking for Pacific Mercantile Bank. "She adds tremendous value to her client relationships, while also remaining deeply involved in the local community. She is a great asset to Pacific Mercantile Bank and well-deserving of this recognition from UC Irvine."

Ms. Rohani joined Pacific Mercantile Bank in 2012 and leads the Bank's Newport Beach Office. Prior to joining Pacific Mercantile Bank, Ms. Rohani was a Senior Vice President with Prudential for 12 years where she helped manage a $300 million portfolio of debt and equity investments for mergers, acquisitions, leveraged recapitalizations, management buyouts and expansion financing. She served as a board member for several of the largest Prudential companies throughout the U.S.

Ms. Rohani began her 20-year banking career with Bank of America's regional commercial banking office in Costa Mesa, CA, followed by Imperial Bank where, as a Vice President, she was instrumental in expanding Imperial's venture-backed and technology lending in Southern California.
