Uponor appoints Jan Peter Tewes as head of its Building Solutions – Europe segment and a member of the Group Executive Committee
Uponor Corporation’s Board of Directors has appointed Jan Peter Tewes (46), M.Sc. (Econ.), MBA, as Executive Vice President Building Solutions – Europe and a member of the Group’s Executive Committee, effective from 1 September 2015.
Mr Tewes will be the first head of the Building Solutions – Europe segment, which has been operating on a dual functional manager principle since 2013. Reporting to Jyri Luomakoski, President and CEO of Uponor Corporation, he will also assume responsibility for Group brand management.
Jan Peter Tewes, a German citizen, has a varied professional background in the European sanitary and plumbing industry. Most recently, he was employed as Chief Marketing Officer and member of the global management team at Grohe Global, a German-based sanitary fittings provider. Prior to that, he served as managing director at Grohe Northern Europe/Baltics and Grohe UK/Ireland and, earlier, as Business Manager at Masterfoods Europe, among others.

Fernando Roses, until now EVP, Offering and Supply Chain for Building Solutions – Europe, and member of the Group’s Executive Committee, will continue as Executive Committee member assuming the new role of EVP, Technology and Corporate Development at Uponor Group, effective as of 1 September 2015. He continues to report to President and CEO Jyri Luomakoski. This appointment highlights the growing strategic importance of research, technology and sustainability for Uponor globally. Fernando will drive major group-wide initiatives in the field of technology development, digitalisation and M&A, among others.
After a career of nearly 19 years with Uponor and one of its predecessors, Heiko Folgmann, EVP, Sales and Marketing for Building Solutions – Europe has announced his resignation from Uponor. “I wish to thank Heiko for his dedication and drive, first managing the German and Central European operations and more recently leading Building Solutions – Europe’s sales and marketing and Group brand development. His role in transforming and renewing Uponor has been central. I fully appreciate his desire to make changes on a personal level, and I wish him all the best for his future career,” says President and CEO Jyri Luomakoski. Heiko will retire from the Executive Committee at the end of June and will provide support in the transition of the new roles until the end of September.
Apart from the changes mentioned above, Uponor’s Executive Committee remains as today.
