Hang w/ Enables Live Broadcasters to Share Direct to YouTube

Live Streaming Social Media App Continues to Unveil New Features and Firsts

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- This week Hang w/, a leader in live-stream video broadcasting, launches a new set of product features to accompany their already competitive and feature-rich live broadcasting platform.

As a follow-up to Hang w/'s timely Apple Watch compatibility, the live streaming broadcast app seeks to further elevate its user experience with a new round of product features. This latest update showcases enhanced graphic options and a streamlined process for posting archived broadcasts across video platforms.

The highlight of these updates is the addition of the Share to YouTube button. Users can now post their archived video straight to their YouTube page with the touch of one button directly after a live stream has ended. This new feature in particular has appealed to up-and-coming YouTube stars that are looking to profit from their live-stream broadcasts. Hang w/ has stayed attractive to top talent by offering to pay a percentage of their net advertising revenue generated by the broadcaster back to that broadcaster.

"Share to YouTube is just another example of how we are constantly listening to our users," said Andrew Maltin, Hang w/ CEO. "It's our belief that live video needs to fit into the existing social media ecosystem. That's why we stream on Facebook and Twitter and why we are now releasing share to YouTube. We aim to create the most complete and cross-integrated broadcasting platform available today."

Dave Swartz, Hang w/ President and Chief Creative Officer said, "We saw that YouTube creators were being forced to choose between live streaming or creating YouTube content. With Hang w/ they don't need to decide. Now they can participate in the live-streaming revolution and continue to reach their audience where it's already been built."

On visual side, the brand is excited to announce yet another unique live filter. The "Sketch" filter allows users to alter their live-stream to visually mimic imagery as if taken straight from an artist's sketchpad - enabling users to be even more creative with the live broadcast experience.

Other Key Feature Updates Include

  • Featured users: will now be in Orange and have an orange icon next to their username (same as verified users)

  • Broadcast Follow Overlay: If you are not following a broadcaster you are watching, and watch them for :30 seconds or more - a "Follow" icon will appear on the right side of the screen.

  • Multiple likes: Users can now like as many times as they desire - allowing the viewers to send constant feedback to the broadcaster without needing to engage in the chat.
