Dow Jones Risk & Compliance Successfully Completes ISAE 3000 Reasonable Assurance Process

LONDON, June 11, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dow Jones today announced that the design of its Risk & Compliance sanctions processes and controls as at 31 March 2015 has been audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in accordance with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000 assurance standard.  This international standard provides customers with an independent review in relation to the design of a service provider's internal processes and controls.

Developed by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, ISAE 3000 is one of the most widely recognized standards used by accounting firms to independently assess a company's report regarding its control environment.

The report assesses the design of the control environment supporting key aspects of the Dow Jones Risk & Compliance sanctions service offerings. This includes controls over the creation of new records, refresh of existing records (following changes or at periodic intervals) and regular monitoring and screening of records.

"The recent ISAE 3000 assurance report underscores Dow Jones’s commitment to data quality and sound processes," said Joel Lange, managing director of Dow Jones Risk & Compliance.  "Having ISAE 3000 assurance over our controls - conducted by a leading provider of assurance and audit services - demonstrates our commitment to the global clientele.”

“Meeting global regulatory requirements is a key challenge for our clients and they need the assurance that the data they procure is sourced and processed to the highest standards," Mr Lange added.

Dow Jones Risk & Compliance provides timely, accurate and relevant sanctions data.  It uses sophisticated tools as well as manual processes to proactively monitor major sanctions lists, ensuring online tools, feeds and API delivery channels receive data quickly and efficiently.

In addition to the lists published by major sanctions bodies, Dow Jones provides enhanced sanctions data, including third party content, as well as maritime related information.  With the recent crisis in Ukraine, Dow Jones has proactively added 5,000 additional companies owned or controlled by sanctioned individuals and entities.
