YIT starts the renovation of an office building in Helsinki city centre

YIT will start the renovation of the office building it bought in 2014 in the city centre of Helsinki, Finland. The office building located in Lönnrotinkatu 11 will include approximately 4,000 square metres of office space in five floors and approximately 400 square metres of commercial space in the street level. The renovation will be completed in autumn 2016. Tenants’ interest towards the project has been on a good level and part of the premises have already been leased. Also investor negotiations are ongoing.

In the renovation of the old office building built in 1972, the façade, interiors and building systems of the building will be renewed to meet the requirements of a modern office. In addition, the renovation will remarkably improve the energy efficiency of the building, and a LEED environmental certificate will be applied for the project.

”After the renovation, the Lönnrotinkatu 11 business premises will meet the requirements of its users today and in the future. We will design the premises in co-operation with the customers. The starting point for the design is that the premises will serve our customers’ businesses with flexibility also in the future”, says Mikko Lempinen, project development director at YIT.
