ChinaCache Establishes Strategic Cooperation With Xi'an Jiaotong University

Cooperation to Jointly Promote the Development of IXPs (Internet Exchange Points) in the Western Region of China

BEIJING, June 16, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd. ("ChinaCache" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:CCIH), the leading total solutions provider of Internet content and application delivery services in China, today announced the establishment of a strategic cooperation agreement with Xi'an Jiaotong University ("XJTU') to promote the development of the Internet industry in the western region of China. The cooperation will focus on cloud computing, Internet infrastructure related applications, mobile Internet development and the establishment of IXPs (Internet Exchange Points) for five provinces in northwestern China.

Pursuant to the cooperation agreement, ChinaCache and XJTU will jointly build the "XJTU-ChinaCache Information Technology Research and Development Center" to leverage both parties' capabilities in scientific research to solve key technical challenges and advancements in the area of intelligent information networks. In addition, XJTU will recommend its highly-skilled graduates for employment at ChinaCache and its affiliated companies.

"As a leading professional cloud CDN total solutions provider in China, R&D and innovation have always been at the core of our success," said Mr. Wang Song, chairman and CEO of ChinaCache. "We believe our strategic cooperation with XJTU will further enhance our technological capabilities, while at the same time attracting top notch talent. In addition, we look forward to promoting the development of the Internet industry and expanding the CDN market in the western region of China with the most advanced concept of IXP. This joint research and development effort will enable us to build IXPs for smaller carriers and CPs (content providers) across five provinces in northwestern China. The IXPs will significantly reduce operating costs and improve efficiency for small businesses across the region. In the U.S., almost all the mega CPs prefer to exchange content through IXPs, to save costs for carriers. We believe this will be the evolving industry trend in the China CDN market as well," Mr. Wang concluded.

ChinaCache has a history of collaborating with leading universities in China to advance Internet infrastructure technologies. The Company previously established a joint laboratory with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, a content delivery network research laboratory with the Institute of Information Technology of Tsinghua University, and a joint research laboratory with Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
