Hill's Partnership Event Seeks to Find Forever Homes for Shelters' Felines

ORLANDO, Fla., June 16, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando today announced the second "Cat-a-palooza" event at its two animal shelters, 2727 Conroy Road, Orlando, FL 32839 and 2800 County Home Road, Sanford, FL 32773 with free cat adoptions all weekend. Celebrating "fantastic felines," the event seeks to find homes for the shelters' cats and kittens, with Hill's Pet Nutrition underwriting the adoption fee for the first 100 cats adopted during the event, which runs June 20-21, 2015.

"Summer is the time of year we receive the most cats and yet adoptions are low," says Sean Hawkins, Vice President of Marketing for Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. "We value our partnership with Hill's Pet Nutrition not only to celebrate cats but also to put the extra effort into finding every cat in our shelters a forever, loving home." The Pet Alliance animal shelters are filled to capacity with adoptable cats and kittens, all of which are available for viewing at www.PetAllianceOrlando.org.

In addition to the free adoptions, every adopted cat will also receive a free bag of Hill's Science Diet cat food, 6 months of flea and heartworm prevention and 30 days of free pet health insurance. As a special bonus, the first 20 cats adopted during Cat-a-palooza will receive a very special designer cat bed filled with toys and treats, a $200 value.

"We think cats are fantastic and enjoy giving them the special attention they deserve," says Dianne Perkins, U.S. Shelter Program Manager for Hill's. "During Cat-a-palooza, the Hill's Food, Shelter & Love® Program is partnering with Pet Alliance to help as many cats as possible find a forever home."

On average, the Pet Alliance invests $254 in every adoptable cat. Every cat and kitten adopted by Pet Alliance has been spayed or neutered, permanently identified with a microchip, fully vaccinated and treated for fleas. Even if you cannot adopt a pet this weekend, you can lend a hand by providing a temporary foster home for a special needs animal.
