Starbreeze AB: Starbreeze announces its 2nd publishing deal and invests 2 MUSD in Behaviour Interactive's upcoming game Dead by Daylight

Starbreeze AB, one of Sweden's leading independent game developers, today announced its agreement with Canadian based studio Behavior Interactive in regards to the upcoming game Dead by Deadlight with a 2 MUSD investment, Starbreeze finances game development and receives 50% of royalties for the lifetime of the game, while Behavior Interactive retains 100% of the intellectual property rights.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game in which one crazed killer hunts four friends through a terrifying nightmare. Players take on the role of both killer and survivors in a deadly game of cat and mouse. It's a Mature Gamer take on the thrills of Hide & Seek!

"Dead by Daylight is fun, scary and a riot to watch. Behaviour will kill it with this one," said Mikael Nermark, COO of Starbreeze Studios. "Establishing another partnership further cements our commitment to collaborations with game developers. We're happy to partner with such a talented developer as Behaviour."

"By bringing together the success of online games and the horror genre with the emergence of asymmetrical multiplayer games, we believe the timing is right to bring Dead by Daylight to the market," said Remi Racine, CEO of Behavior. "Starbreeze's perennial success in running PAYDAY as a live multiplayer franchise, combined with their strategic investment in the survival-horror genre, makes them the ideal partner for Behaviour in the development and launch of Dead by Daylight. We are excited by the potential of our two companies' collaboration."

The Dead by Daylight project is in its initial production phase. The platforms and release dates are to be determined and announced at a later date.

Starbreeze looks for the potential best partners and will give you the same. Any aspiring stars should contact Mikael Nermark, Starbreeze COO at business@starbreeze.com

Starbreeze aims at becoming a catalyst for the developer's success. Projects will be selected and managed carefully and game developers will be encouraged to retain part of the game IP.
