Munchkin Inc. Announces Partnership With Charlotte and Gwenyth Gray Foundation

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 18, 2015) -  Family brand, Munchkin Inc., announced they will donate 100% of all proceeds for sales on Munchkin.com for a 12 day period to the Charlotte and Gwenyth Gray Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Batten disease, a neurodegenerative disease that typically leaves kids aged 6-12 blind, immobile, cognitively impaired, and eventually dead.

After watching a video that Gordon and Kristen Gray created about their daughters, Charlotte (4 yrs) and Gwenyth (23 mos), who were both recently diagnosed with the disease, Munchkin founder and CEO, Steven Dunn and the entire Munchkin team were incredibly moved, and knew they had to join the cause:

"As a father of two myself, I can't fathom what a life-shattering diagnosis this must be for Charlotte and Gwenyth's parents, Gordon and Kristen. I am inspired by the tremendous courage they have shown by sharing their story with the world. The Munchkin family and I are committed to helping them in any way we can," Dunn said. "As a baby and children's products company, we are hopeful that the moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers who buy our products feel the same compassion and empathy that we feel for the Gray family.

"During the period of June 17-June 28, 100% of all proceeds purchased from www.munchkin.com will support the Charlotte and Gwenyth Gray Foundation. We truly believe in our motto 'It's the little things,' so please take a little time to visit the website and support this important cause. Everything from buying sippy cups, Latch™ bottles, wipe warmers, diaper pails, etc. will help make a big difference for the Gray family. Please share this message on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and all other social media channels and direct others to the efforts to #CureBatten. I also encourage and challenge all other baby and children's product companies, both old and new, to join us in our donating efforts. Together can we can all put an end to this tragic and horrific disease."

The girls' father, film producer Gordon Gray, is optimistic that Munchkin's newfound commitment will help bring them closer to finding a cure.

"We're so grateful that Munchkin.com has partnered with the Charlotte and Gwenyth Gray Foundation to Cure Batten Disease," stated Gordon Gray. "The proceeds will help move us toward our goal of raising $10 million to accelerate research and clinical trials into promising treatments that could save Charlotte and Gwenyth, as well as countless other children suffering from this cruel disease and related neurodegenerative disorders."
