On changes in the composition of the Management Board of Latvenergo AS

Member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer of Latvenergo AS Zane Kotāne has decided to discontinue employment relations and resign from her position in the Management Board, grounding this decision in the willingness and need to devote more time to her family. Recognising that her professional input in the achievement of the company's strategic goals has been and would continue to be very important and valuable, the Shareholders' Meeting respects Zane Kotāne's decision to resign from the Management Board of Latvenergo AS as of 19 June 2015.


Riga, 2015-06-19 14:48 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Zane Kotāne carried out the duties of the Member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer actively, responsibly and with high personal devotion. Results of Z. Kotāne’s work manifest in the successful progress towards achievement of the strategic goals of Latvenergo Group. Among Z. Kotāne’s accomplishments we can also note the issue of bonds as well as her contribution in the improvement of Group’s transparency and good corporate governance practices by ensuring public availability of detailed financial information.

Before her work at Latvenergo AS, Z. Kotāne headed the Unit for Business Analysis and Reporting at the Commercial Department of AirBaltic AS. She has also held the Chief Financial Officer’s position in an international investment group for five years, and before that she worked in an international audit and consultancy company.

The daily operations of Latvenergo AS financial division is ensured by Business Planning and Control, Treasury, Accounting, and Risk Management and Insurance departments headed by experienced employees. These departments perform daily operations, cooperating with departments from other divisions and taking decisions in accordance with the Group’s strategy; they are headed by directors with specific fields of responsibility, subordinated employees and rights of supervising administrative decisions. Thus, attraction of external financial resources and cooperation with creditors and investors are ensured by the Treasury department led by Jānis Irbe. The Director of Business Planning and Control Guntars Baļčūns, in turn, is responsible for the planning, analysis and control of short-term and long-term business results as well as for assessment of investment projects and preparation of management and sustainability reports.
