AT&T Certifies MiFi(R) Secure SA 1100 IoT Solution for Home Security

Novatel Wireless Introduces New Solutions Portfolio Aimed at Growing Control and Automation Market

Introduction of MiFi Secure SA 1100, Empowers Home Security Alarm Providers to Expedite Required 3G Cellular Upgrade for Pre-Installed Security Alarm Panels on the AT&T Network

SAN DIEGO, June 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Novatel Wireless, Inc., (Nasdaq:MIFI), a leading provider of wireless solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced AT&T (NYSE:T) network approval of the MiFi® Secure SA 1100, the first offering in a new platform designed specifically for the control and automation market. The SA 1100 series presents customers with opportunities to create differentiated services that drive business growth. Out of the gate, the portfolio has made its introduction into the home security solutions market, a segment within the control and automation market.

The SA 1100, announced in April with Icontrol Networks at the ISC West Conference, is a dual path communicator board for independent security dealers to easily install in home security panels. The solution empowers home security alarm providers to expedite the current 3G cellular upgrade requirement for pre-installed security devices on the AT&T network in addition to offering home automation services by simplifying communication of smart home appliances through one touch point via Wi-Fi and Z-Wave® protocols. The portfolio includes open standards-based products with the ability to run "as-a-service" solutions that enable providers to enter new markets and grow revenue.

"MiFi Secure SA 1100 is a whole new offering for the home security market and we're excited to receive certification for this one and more in the future with AT&T," said Alex Mashinsky, CEO Novatel Wireless.

"We're excited about the opportunity in front of us and we're going full tilt with fantastic partners," Mashinsky continued. "We're working to simplify the delivery of meaningful solutions into the market via collaboration and existing partnerships with respected leaders in the security industry, including Monitronics, Icontrol and Tri-ed, an Anixter company."
