join.me Reshapes Video Conferencing With Fast, Easy, Free Video Meetings

Fastest Growing Web Conferencing App Aims to Break Video Conferencing Mold

BOSTON, June 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- join.me, the popular online meeting app from LogMeIn, Inc. (Nasdaq:LOGM), is rolling out a fresh new approach to chatting, meeting and collaborating via video. Like join.me itself, the new video capabilities are designed to provide people with a simple, fast and fun way to meet with colleagues, partners and customers across the hall, across the country or across the world. And like join.me, the new video conferencing capabilities are available to anyone, free of charge.

In keeping with join.me's simple, lightweight and fun user experience, individual video feeds take the form of bubbles which can be manipulated and moved – even bounced -- around the screen by meeting participants. It can be used to have video-only calls, chats, and meetings; or it can be used in conjunction with join.me's signature simple screen sharing capability. And by leveraging HTML5 and WebRTC, along with join.me's signature speed, meetings start within seconds without requiring attendees to download anything to join.1

"Millions of people have been attracted by join.me's core DNA of speed, simplicity and a user experience unlike anything before it. With video, we've applied the same approach and philosophy," said Craig Daniel, vice president of products for join.me. "With join.me video, we looked beyond just a better video conference to deliver what we believe is a far more engaging, natural, and delightful way for people to come together and get stuff done."

"In the collaboration space, there is an ever-tighter synergy between web and video conferencing. No longer can companies look at these capabilities separately. Visual cues are critical for collaborative interactions," said David Mario Smith, Research Director and Lead Analyst at Aragon Research, Inc. "As one of the more popular web conferencing products, join.me becomes a more complete collaboration tool with the addition of video capabilities."
