Navient Foundation awards $22,000 to Luzerne County Head Start


WILKES-BARRE, Pa., June 25, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Navient, the nation's leading loan management, servicing and asset recovery company, has announced that Navient Foundation, the company-sponsored philanthropic organization, awarded a $22,000 grant to Luzerne County Head Start, a United Way agency dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for low-income children and their families.

"We are grateful for Navient's continued support to the Head Start program," said Lynn Evans Biga, executive director, Luzerne County Head Start. "Helping our community's children who are living in poverty will help our entire community and will give our children a positive start in life."

Luzerne County Head Start offers multiple programs and services for children, including preschool centers, an Early Head Start program for children up to age three, and children with disabilities.
