CP+B NAMES ERIC ZUNCIC CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER, NORTH AMERICA

Hiring Reinforces Agency's Belief in The Power of Strategic Insights to Drive Brilliant Creative Ideas

BOULDER, Colo., July 6, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CP+B announced today that they have named Eric Zuncic Chief Strategy Officer. In his new role, Zuncic will lead the Consumer, Culture and Business Strategy Practice, develop the North American planning toolkit, define new ways to identify insights and articulate creative strategies, and provide vision and direction to further energize and evolve CP+B's strategy discipline. Based in Boulder, and working with all three U.S. offices in Miami, Boulder and Los Angeles, Zuncic will be a part of the overall leadership team and will work in partnership with Jason De Turris, Chief Strategy Officer, International, who relocated to Hong Kong early this year to oversee global strategy on accounts such as Infiniti, and to open CP+B's Hong Kong office.

"What initially drew us to Eric is his unique, modern approach to strategy that he's cultivated through a breadth of experience, ranging from a deep understanding and expertise in data and analytics, to lead strategy roles on both the client and agency side.  This depth and versatility allow him to think boldly and inventively across business strategy, brand strategy and communications strategy to identify the highest impact opportunities for our clients," said Lori Senecal, Global CEO, CP+B.

Zuncic joins CP+B from Mekanism, where he was the Head of Strategy, responsible for growing the research, strategy, planning, innovation and analytics capabilities, leading new business and setting the corporate growth vision. During his time there, he led the insights and planning for the "It's on Us" White House campaign to stop sexual assault, helped to create the strategy and global campaign for The North Face, led the creative strategy for Pepsi's biggest platforms including the Super Bowl, the Grammy's and the Oscars, and worked on, among others, Ben & Jerry's, Jim Beam, the NFL, Tesla and Ralph Lauren. Prior to that, he was the director of Strategy and Innovation at The Brand Union, managing global strategy for GSK Consumer Healthcare, Absolut, Pernod Ricard and Time Warner Cable. He began his career first at GEICO and then at Unilever, working on the prestigious Dove Men + Care brand. Zuncic is a graduate of The University of Richmond and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

"Planning was originally invented in the service of creativity, but over the years, it seems the industry has over intellectualized it and disjointed it from the creative process," said Eric Zuncic. "We aim to build on CP+B's tradition of strategy that is more agile and intuitive, allowing it to be a more fluid part of the entire creative process. We want to show how unexpected new ways of linking strategy and creativity can help solve the toughest business problems. I am thrilled to be working with Lori, Andrew, Jason, Ralph, Kevin and the entire CP+B team on this mission, and excited to be a part of the agency that reinvented the way modern brands behave."
