Reduced RN to BSN Tuition from Nebraska Methodist College

In an effort to emphasize the growing importance of attaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Nebraska Methodist College has announced an unprecedented tuition reduction for registered nurses.

OMAHA, Neb., July 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nebraska Methodist College is making its RN to BSN bridge program more accessible to students than ever before.

The Omaha-based nursing and allied health college has announced a tuition reduction of nearly 50% to all currently Registered Nurses who sign up for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing bridge program. This incentive will provide increased access to one of the most prestigious and respected nursing programs in the region.

"As a college, we're always looking for ways to get people excited about what the next step of their careers might look like," said Dr. Dennis Joslin, president and CEO of Nebraska Methodist College.  "The healthcare world is changing rapidly, and one of the biggest shifts has been the necessity of registered nurses securing their BSNs.  This reduction in tuition rate will open doors for people who may have hesitated to pursue their bachelor degrees in the past."

The college has even been at the forefront of encouraging its graduates to come back to obtain their Master of Science in Nursing, either as an Educator or a Nurse Executive.  The school's Doctorate of Nursing Practice program has also gained prominence in the area, having had its first White Coat ceremony last month.

"The demand for BSN-prepared nurses has grown exponentially these past few years," said Dr. Linda Hughes, dean of Nursing at NMC.  "Methodist Health System is just one of many around the country that prefer new hires to come in with a BSN.  Possession of this degree demonstrates a certain level of experience and knowledge.  All registered nurses should give consideration to this opportunity."
